Reena MacTavish is a secondary character from The Severis Tales.
Biography
Reena comes from a cold, coastal region of the Highlands (a geographical area that emulates Scotland in the real world). Wanting to travel, she came to Caldore to find her dream job, which fell apart. With no money, she became stranded in Barlett, and became the Severises' sole employee.
Physical Description
Reena has curly brown hair, brown eyes, and brown eyebrows, and is average height. She speaks with a slight accent, which she partly lost during her time in Caldore.
Peronality and Habits
Reena is a lonely woman. She is often homesick, especially around Erandor. However, she loves where she is, and is caught in an internal tug-of-war: to leave and return home when she has the money, or stay in Barlett. Recently, she has taken the initiative to open and close the shop on her own, leaving the Severises to focus on other matters they previous had little to no time for.
Reena can also be crude in her language, and she can be physical at times. In story #4, The Winter Sheds of our Discontent, she shoved the handle of her broomstick up Brackneed's backside in an attempt to make him leave.
Family and Relationships
Reena's family, not wholly mentioned, is in Braadburg. Often at expense, she keeps in touch with her family using long-distance mail.
Although she does have social friends, Reena often cites Leena and Xiveer as her true friends and second family, as they've made an effort to take care of her. She sometimes winks cheekily at Larry, suggesting some sort of infatuation, although such things are immediately shut down by her employers.
Notable Events
- Reena arrived in Caldore in 1193 on a ship, which docked at Dorington, in Cambridge County. She knew next-to-nothing about Caldore beforehand, only learning about its rich multicultural history and some of the townships along the way to Barlett.
