Janessa is the niece of Brackneed Vendyor. At a young age, she was sent to live with her uncle to learn the ways of the world of retail and business. A very individual woman, she defied the Brackneed clan's tradition by studying Caldorian law instead.

Like most Vendyors, she is rude and arrogant. She is anchored by her most unlikely and best friend, Elcra Winterbottom. She is seen as posh and like her uncle <em>just because</em> she is related to Brackneed, a stereotype she hates.

Despite looking athletic, Janessa is not one who partakes in sport. She has blonde hair which is always seen in a high ponytail. She has fair skin and blue eyes.

Besides her inherited personality, Janessa tries to be kinder than her uncle. She often talks in an argumentative way. Her voice is gravelly and squeaky.

|TstFam=
Janessa does not have a healthy relationship with the rest of her family, save her late aunt Vasira. She has an often-strained relationship with her uncle Brackneed. His insistence of having middle-class friends and to go into business put her over the edge during Erandor in 1103, abandoning him in the street. Thanks to some clever planning by her friends, she and Brackneed were able to come to terms, finally agreeing to leave her to her own wishes, despite her family's intentions.

Such is her defiant ways, she formed a close bond with working-class farmer Elcra Winterbottom, her best friend.

However, she detests Larry because of his laziness and unwillingness to be social. During 1103, her relationship with Larry has improved, often highlighting his social skills. Although not a true friend, she has a lot more respect for him after saving her from Toln Faresteed, and more so after Erandor when talking to Xiveer, who, because she is a Vendyor, has some difficulty being in her presence.

Among her other friends is Terrence Howard, who, like Larry, is taking astronomy sciences.
