Enter The Severis Tales, a continuing short story series that focuses on the lives of the Severis family and the townsfolk around them. While presented in the genre of general fantasy, The Severis Tales is not your usual epic fantasy, with major battles between colossal armies and wars between gods. This world has possibly seen some of the heavy stuff, but those events are not in the scope of the series.

== Introduction ==
The aim of the series is to offer a glimpse into the lives of the ordinary people who live in their world, called Algeonon. The series is set primarily in the town of Barlett, Marius County, in the country of Caldore.

The idea came about during a brainstorming session, which turned into a philosophical discussion on the subject. Specifically, in those worlds where the main focus is on plot specifics, and the wide array of characters central to the plot. I genuinely thought that, at some point, there must be value in the stories of some of the side-characters, or reference to places that aren't mentioned again. From there, I thought of a world which could have "epic" stories around it, then subtracted it from the abstracted creation. From there, the world of Algenon was born, along with Barlett, the Severis family, and several of the other characters and places within town.

== Main Characters ==
Although named The Severis Tales and focuses a lot on the Severis Family itself, some of the stories rotate around other primary or even secondary characters. However, many do involve the same group of people. Click on the links of the character names to learn more.

Characters are divided into three groups: primary, secondary, and background. In the normal course of most TST stories, the stories follow the specified tier for each character. Some characters, who have not before appeared in TST, are the focus of the story.

=== The Severis Family ===
* [[Xiveer Severis|Xiveer (pronounced Zai-veer) Severis]] is the patriarch of the Severis family, wife to Leena and father to Larry and Michale. He has a bizarre sense of humour and uses unorthodox means to solve trivial problems, much to his wife's chagrin. He is also seen as an idiot by some, foolish, and aloof. He is sometimes awkward but out-going. He co-owns Barlett's east end shop Severis General Goods with his wife.
* [[Leena Severis]] is Xiveer's long-suffering wife and mother to Larry and Michale. Normally, she is calm, smart, and determined; however, if she sees or hears of something that interests her, she will go out to great lengths to obtain it. Leena is also very welcoming to others in her home. If provoked or thrown into a panic, she will have a surge of adrenaline and become crazed. She co-owns and operates Severis General Goods with her husband.
* [[Larry Severis|Larrynton "Larry" Arendor Severis]] is the eldest son of the family. He is shy, prone to anxiety and stress and has low self-esteem. Shielded by his parents and picked on all his life for his physical features, he has very few friends and trusts even fewer people. However, he must attend college, and is forced to leave the creature comforts of home and confront the real world.
* [[Michale Severis|Michale "Mikey" Severis]] is the younger, elvish son. Unlike his older brother, who is docile and friendly, Michale takes every opportunity to torture him. He is a misfit who submits to his parents.
